Microsoft has begun rolling out updated versions of Paint, Snipping Tool, and Notepad to Windows 11 Insiders using Dev and Canary builds. Each application has received several new features, including AI-powered innovations that enhance functionality and user experience.

Paint (Version 11.2504.451.0)
Paint introduces two significant AI-powered features: Sticker Generator and Object Selection. Additionally, a Welcome dialog has been added to assist users in exploring the app's capabilities.
Sticker Generator
The Sticker Generator is a new feature that allows users to create custom stickers based on text queries. To use this tool:
- Select the Sticker Generator option from the Copilot menu.
- Enter a description of the desired sticker, such as "cat in sunglasses," and click Generate.
- Paint will generate a set of unique stickers. Users can place any sticker directly onto the canvas, copy it for use in other applications, or save it as a file.

All recently generated stickers are accessible via the new Stickers menu on the toolbar. This feature is exclusive to Copilot+ PC devices and requires signing in with a Microsoft account.
Object Selection
The Object Selection tool is designed to isolate and edit specific elements within an image. To use this feature:
- Click the Object Selection button in the toolbar.
- Point to specific elements on the canvas to select and edit them.

Welcome Dialog
A new Welcome dialog has been introduced to familiarize users with Paint's features. It provides an overview of the app's capabilities and serves as a helpful guide for both new and returning users. The dialog can be reopened anytime by clicking the loudspeaker icon in the upper-right corner of the toolbar.
Snipping Tool (Version 11.2504.38.0)
The Snipping Tool now includes two notable enhancements: Perfect Screenshot and Color Picker(Eyedropper).
Perfect Screenshot
Perfect Screenshot is an AI-powered feature that captures screen content without requiring subsequent cropping or resizing. To use this feature:
- Open the screenshot toolbar either from the app itself or by pressing Win + Shift + S.
- Click the Perfect Screenshot button in rectangular selection mode and define the desired area on the screen.
- The tool will intelligently adjust the capture to fit the selected content.

Users can also activate Perfect Screenshot quickly by holding down the Ctrl key while selecting an area on the screen. Adjustments to the selection area can be made before confirming the capture.
Color Picker
The Color Picker tool enables users to identify and extract color information from the screen. To use this feature:
- Access the screenshot toolbar from the app or by pressing Win + Shift + S.
- Select the Color Picker tool and choose a color code format: HEX, RGB, or HSL.

Write Feature
The Write feature simplifies text creation and editing using AI. To use this tool:
- Place the cursor where you want to insert new text, or select a fragment to serve as a basis.
- Right-click and select Write from the Copilot menu, or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Q.
- Enter instructions in the dialog box and click Send. The generated text will appear in the document.

After reviewing the output, users can choose to keep the text or reject it if it does not meet their requirements. Additional queries can be entered to refine the draft further.
To access Write, users must sign in with their Microsoft account. Subscribers to Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, Enterprise, and Copilot Pro plans can spend AI credits to generate text using this feature.
