Windows 11 Build 22463 is available in Dev, fixes the taskbar icon alignment

Windows 11 Win + X Menu Icon

Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 preview build 22463 for Windows Insiders in the Dev channel. It comes from the active development branch (RS_PRERELEASE). Such builds no longer belong to the specific version of Windows 11. It is also important to note that development in this branch is at a very early stage, so the builds on the Dev channel will not always be stable. Sometimes you will run into problems that require specific actions or workarounds to solve. Be sure to review the Known Issues List for each Insider Build.

I would like that the official release of Windows 11 will take place on October 5, 2021. However, not all the features that were announced in July will be present in the system. In particular, the company has postponed support for Android applications, so it is likely to appear only in 2022. Also, check the minimum system requirements for Windows 11.

What's new in Windows 11 Build 22463 (Dev channel)

  • When you have a file or folder selected in File Explorer, you can now use CTRL + Shift + C to copy the path to your clipboard.
  • Rounded the corners of the pop-ups shown when clicking “identify displays” in Display Settings.
  • Made some small adjustments to the contrast theme colors based on feedback, including making hyperlinks a little more distinct on hover when using the desert theme.
  • Added an icon next to the volume slider in Quick Settings to help make the option for managing audio endpoints more discoverable.
  • Updated the Windows Ease of Access folder in Start’s All apps list to now simply be called Accessibility.
  • Added an option to Focus Assist settings so you can choose whether or not you would like Focus Assist to be automatically enabled for the first hour after a Windows feature update.

As for fixes, there is a couple of them you will definitely like.

First of all, taskbar icons are now centered properly, and no longer shifted to the right. The apps should no longer get cut off by the "show hidden icons" button when too many apps are open.

Also, the "System" entry is again available in the Win + X menu. It was accidentally removed from Start button's right-click menu, but this has finally fixed.

The full change log is available in the official announcement.
