Windows 10 is receiving rebranded Microsoft Store

Windows Store Icon Green Big

As you may already know, recently Microsoft rebranded the built-in content delivery system in Windows 10. The Store app, known as "Windows Store" since Windows 8, got a new name. It’s now called the Microsoft Store, and it also has a new logo.

The renamed app will allow users to buy hardware and other products that are currently available from the online Microsoft Store. The company is going to sell products like their very own Surface devices, or even third-party devices and hardware via the app. The rebranded store in Windows 10 could indicate the desire of the company to sell TV content, and movies purchased from the Store available across different devices and the web.

Microsoft has been testing the new Microsoft Store with Windows Insiders and Xbox Insiders for the past few weeks, but it’s now getting ready to roll the update to all users.

Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring are getting a new update to the Windows Store app which renames the app to Microsoft Store. Finally, Cortana now refers to the Store apps as Trusted Microsoft Store apps, which were previously called as Trusted Windows Store apps. See the following screenshot:

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, which is expected to be released today, should come with the rebranded Microsoft Store app out of the box.
