Windows 10 has got an option to turn on or off Aero Shake

Recently, we covered the upcoming toggle option that allows quickly disabling on enabling Aero Shake in Windows 10. It was hidden by that time. This has finally changed, and the option is now available in Windows 10 build 21364.

Microsoft has updated the change log for Windows 10 build 21364 by mentioning the new setting.

  • [ADDED 4/22] You can now turn off Aero Shake via Settings > System > Multitasking and choosing the “off” toggle under “Title bar window shake”. This setting is now off by default so for those who want it back will need to turn this setting on.

Here's how it looks.

If you are not familiar with Aero Shake, it is a window management feature in Windows that allows quickly minimizing all open windows by 'shaking' the app you want to keep active. That window will remain open on Desktop, while all other windows will be minimized down to the taskbar. The option to disable it was not available anywhere in the GUI, so had to edit the Registry (see Enable or Disable Aero Shake in Windows 10 with these methods) or use Winaero Tweaker:

Aero Shake was part of the Windows Aero interface that has long been outdated. In Windows 7, Microsoft introduced two new ways to arrange windows and manage their size/position and window state. The two features are called "Aero Snap" and "Aero Shake" respectively. The Aero Snap feature arranges and resizes windows by moving them to the left, top or right edge of the screen. The second one, Aero Shake, allows you to minimize all open apps when you shake the active window.

  1. FINALLY. This is one of the WinAero tweaks that I would say I can’t live without. And they’re setting it disabled by default?? Good riddance.
