Today is May 10, the day when Windows 10 version 20H2 reaches end of support. All its SKUs, i.e. Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations will no longer receive updates.
However, customers still have a time frame to get updates for Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions for one more year. Microsoft will support these OS variants until May 9, 2023.
Windows 10 20H2 holds a relatively small portion of market. For eligible devices Microsoft already offers Windows 11. Users who prefer to stay on Windows 10 may go further with its latest version 21H2.
Actually, Windows 10, version 20H2 and 21H2 are built on the same base inherited from their predecessor, version 2004. All three releases have the same set of system files. To transition the older one to the newer one, Microsoft releases small "enablement packages" to activate the appropriate features and functions. The list of new features aren't big, and turning your 20H2 setup to 21H2 will be fast and smooth.
