Vivaldi 2.5: Speed Dial tile sizing options, Razer Chroma support

Vivaldi Browser Icon Modern Version

A few days ago, the team behind the innovative Vivaldi browser released version 2.5 of the product. Here are the key features of this release.

Vivaldi was started with the promise of giving you a highly customizable, full-featured, innovative browser. It looks like its developers kept their promise - there is no other browser on the market which offers the same amount of options and features. While Vivaldi is built on Chrome's engine, power users are the target user base, like the classic Opera 12 browser. Vivaldi was created by former Opera co-founder and developed keeping in mind Opera's usability and power.

Vivaldi 2.5 comes with the following new features.

Speed Dial size options

There are a number of new options that have been added under “Preferences → Start Page → Speed Dial” that allow changing the Speed Dial size. It is now possible to make it bigger, smaller, or scale to fit the number of columns.

A new Quick Command

This version includes a new quick command to deselect all selected tabs. You can launch it from the F2 dialog, or assign a gesture and a keyboard shortcut to quickly execute it.

Tab selection can be used to perform actions against a group of tabs, such as stacking, closing, moving, reloading, tiling, bookmarking, etc. Before it was only possible via the mouse in combination with modifier keys. Vivaldi 2.5 comes with several new commands, to select the previous, next and related (same domain) tabs. Out of the box you can use these commands in Quick Commands, but if you would prefer a keyboard shortcut or mouse gesture you can configure them in preferences.

Razer Chroma support

Vivaldi 2.5 features integration with Razer Chroma, the world’s largest lighting ecosystem for gaming devices. With this unique integration, you’ll enjoy a thrilling and immersive browsing experience with lighting effects on Chroma-enabled devices. The browser is able to change the background lighting or ambient lighting of Chroma-enabled devices like keyboards or mouses.
