The animations that play when you open and close apps haven't changed in Windows 10 for a long time. They remained the same since the very first releases of the OS. However, Windows 10 build 21277 introduced new effects that play when you open and close an app.

The change can be part of the upcoming 'Sun Valley' user interface overhaul. While the next Windows 10 version, 21H1, is expected to be a minor release, its successor should bring a lot of changes to the operating system, including the new UI.

That looks actually quite neat. But it also seems to be a bit slow? My guess is people will be excited about it and then disable it.
Yep it is definitely a slow effect. Maybe they will change it in 21H2.
Idk, but I really like that animation. It feels really good to open a window.
