The updated Photos app finally reaches Windows 11 insiders

Photos New Icon

Microsoft is now releasing the updated Photos app to Insiders running Windows 11. The company traditionally does a gradual roll-out, so not everyone is getting the app right now. However, the good news is that you can just directly get the app from Microsoft's servers and enjoy it.

Microsoft ships with the Photos app pre-installed with Windows 10 and Windows 11. The goal is to replace the classic Windows Photo Viewer with a modern app. The app is notable for tight integration with Microsoft's very own cloud solution, OneDrive.

The new version of "Photos" is able to simultaneously view multiple images at once. Also, when viewing photos, a list of recent image thumbnails will appear at the bottom of the window. Finally, it features an overhaul of the user interface.
