Microsoft and Suno have teamed up to bring artificial intelligence music creation to the masses. Through their partnership, Microsoft Copilot now features a tool to create songs from text prompts, powered by Suno's AI algorithms.
With Suno's plugin, users can simply input a hint and let the algorithm do the heavy lifting, resulting in personalized songs with lyrics and vocals. Users can also compose instrumental melodies, expanding the use of AI in music production beyond just assisting musicians.

Suno's compositions last 1-2 minutes and include transcripts of the text used as input. While free users are restricted from monetizing AI-generated songs on platforms like YouTube and Spotify, paid users have commercial rights to the tracks.
Since the plugin may have access to personal data accumulated by Copilot, it's possible that the songs will be based on that information. This new feature aims to make AI music creation accessible to ordinary users, allowing for creative uses like writing a melody for an email or presentation purposes.
