A new version of the Skype app for Windows 10 is out to Windows Insiders. The updated app features a new notification panel. The same panel was recently introduced on iOS and Android.
Besides the notification panel, the app adds WhatsApp-like fast chats. You don’t have to add someone as a friend, just chat with them like you would normally on any other messaging app.
The change log for the app looks as follows:
- Stay up to date with the help of the Notifications panel: Quickly return to your conversations to see the reactions to your messages and memos
- Instant Chat: You no longer need to add your friends as contacts. Just find them on Skype and start chat one to one or a group conversation
- Express your mood during a call with emoticons, reactions, text or photos
- Share your virtual world and your business with other users through a Skype video chat in Windows Mixed Reality
Skype for Windows 10 is available to Insiders from the Store. If you are a Windows Insider and have automatic updates enabled in the Windows Store, this update should already be installed on your device. If not, head to its page in the Store and hit the update button. If you don't have Skype installed, you can also grab it from there.
