Microsoft will soon introduce smaller Surface Pro and Surface Laptop

Microsoft is working on smaller versions of its Surface Pro and Surface Laptop devices, featuring screens measuring approximately 11 to 12 inches. These models will maintain the high-quality design aesthetic characteristic of the Surface brand. The official unveiling of these products is expected within the next few weeks, with availability projected for April or May of 2025 at a price point between $800 and $900.

The smaller Surface Pro is positioned as a competitor to the 11-inch iPad Pro, which means it should have a high-refresh display, pen support, and a detachable keyboard. It is unclear whether this is the Surface Pro version of the Surface Go.

The other one, the compact Surface Laptop will likely replace the Surface Laptop Go. The laptop will receive a backlit keyboard, a higher-resolution touchscreen, and an all-metal body.

Both devices are said to be powered by Snapdragon X and Snapdragon X Plus processors, which deliver good performance and battery life.

It's important to note that Microsoft plans to introduce updated versions of the Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 on January 30 with Intel Lunar Lake processors. These devices are aimed at enterprise users and are the first Surface products to include Intel chips, labeled Copilot+ PC.

There's also a Surface Laptop 7 variant expected to feature an Intel processor and 5G connectivity.

The Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 8 are in development and will feature the Snapdragon X2 processor, which is expected to be released towards the end of 2025.
