Microsoft will soon host a special Copilot event to detail its future

Microsoft is set to unveil the future of its Copilot product via a special online event this month, which will be live-streamed on LinkedIn. The event, called The Microsoft 365 Copilot: Wave 2, will feature keynotes from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Jared Spataro, Vice President of AI.

Rumors of a Copilot-related rebranding effort are expected to be confirmed at the event, with "Copilot in Word" being rebranded as "Microsoft 365 Copilot in Word" and "Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365" being renamed to simply "Microsoft 365 Copilot."

Microsoft is likely to unveil a range of new features for Copilot for Microsoft 365, primarily for business customers. The current price of $30 per user / month has raised questions about the tool's value proposition for employees, so these updates may be designed to address this concern.

Additionally, Microsoft may announce new features for its Copilot Pro consumer subscription, which costs $20 per month. Since its launch in early 2024, the subscription has seen limited updates, leaving customers waiting for new additions.

Notably, the company removed the Copilot GPT Builder feature in June, which allowed users to create customized versions of the generative AI. This move may have left some subscribers feeling that the service has stagnated, making new feature announcements a welcome development.

If you are interested in joining the event, here is the link for you. The stream starts on September 16 at 8AM PT / 11AM ET / 18:00 MSK.
