Microsoft has announced that it will discontinue support for the Paint 3D app. The company will stop releasing updates for the app and will permanently remove it from the Microsoft Store on November 4, 2024. Users who currently have the app installed should still be able to use it after this date.
Paint 3D was introduced with the Windows 10 Creators Update in 2017. The application received a modern user interface, new features for 2D and 3D, full PNG support, the ability to work with layers, and so on. Paint 3D was planned to replace the classic Paint, which at that time had not been updated for about ten years.
But it soon became clear that the idea had failed. Users continued to use the classic version of Paint, as it was a simpler and more convenient application. At one point, Microsoft tried to replace Paint with Paint 3D, but due to negative reactions, it was forced to abandon this decision.
