OneDrive is the online document storage solution created by Microsoft which comes bundled as a free service with Windows 10. It can be used to store your documents and other data online in the cloud. Microsoft has updated the service with the new access control options and Camera Upload for OneDrive for Business on Android.
The official announcement comes with the following highlights.
Block Download for Anyone and Organization sharing link
This new feature will allow the user to block downloads of shared files. In addition, there will be the option to prevent other users from making copies of your file, copying text to the clipboard, and printing your documents. The appropriate options are available in the share dialog.
Updates to MyAnalytics on OneDrive for iOS & Android
This feature now adds new entry points to the view count and context menus for individual files to make it easier to see everything that’s happening around your files. Microsoft is improving the service, so that view counts are more accurate and will match the analytics that are available on OneDrive web. This update removes the “File trending” signal .
Camera Upload on Android
The Camera Upload feature for OneDrive on Android will allow users to automatically upload all photos in the device Camera Roll to a selected OneDrive for Business account. To enable this feature, go to the “Me” view from within your OneDrive for Business account and tap “Photos”. You will see a prompt like the one below, tap “Turn On” and read the ensuing prompts carefully. This will begin rolling out to customers later this month.
Unfortunately, the OneDrive app allows using only one account at a moment of time, so the user is forced to choose between a personal and a business account. This new feature remains exclusive to business accounts. This may change in the future, since it can make the OneDrive app and its service more popular.
