Microsoft unveils Fluent Iconography for Microsoft Edge

A few days ago some Edge insiders started to see new rounder icons in Microsoft Edge, including icons for the menus, settings, and other user interface elements. Microsoft today announced that they are gradually rolling out the new icons what are powered by the latest Fluent Design language version.

Microsoft says that there will be two phases of updating the iconography in Edge. This first phase will cover icons for controls like tabs, the address bar, and navigational icons. The second one will include Developer Tools and the Extensions experience.

Edge New Icons 2

According to Microsoft, Edge icons weren't updated since 2014, and represented Microsoft Design Language 2 (MDL2). The new icons are created following the Fluent Design guidelines from 2020.
