Meta (formerly Facebook) announced an integration between Microsoft Teams and Meta Workplace. It will allow employees not only to access content from Workplace without leaving Teams. The first feature is already available. In 2022, users will also be able to create video meetings in Workplace groups using Teams.
With the integration of the two communication platforms, users will be able to participate in meetings, share comments, and view content from Workplace directly in Teams.
Jeff Teper, CVP Product & Engineering, Microsoft Teams, noted the following.
"One thing I learned from the pandemic is that companies don't just rely on one tool to get their work done, so it is our responsibility as leaders in the space to make sure the tools they use integrate and interoperate with each other."
In addition, Workplace supports data sharing with SharePoint, OneDrive and Office 365, and for work accounts there is integration with Microsoft Azure AD.
Finally, the Microsoft Teams app will be available in the Meta Portal starting in December 2021.
Besides integration with Meta Workplace, Microsoft continues to improve its own ecosystem for online collaborations and remote work. Recently, the Redmond software giant introduced the Mesh platform for Teams. The latter will allow users to create virtual avatars and immersive workspaces (metaverse), so that they can work in a unified virtual environment with an immersive experience.
