Microsoft Store Receives a New UI Layout

Windows 10 Microsoft Store gets new tabbed user interface. The new UI layout makes PC games and deals more discoverable. Microsoft is gradually rolls out the update to Windows 10 users.

Like Android has Google Play, and there's the App Store in iOS, the Microsoft Store app (formerly Windows Store) adds the ability to deliver digital content to the end user in Windows.

Modern UWP apps can be installed and updated with one click thanks to the My Library feature of Microsoft Store. It saves the list of apps you have installed and purchased, so you can quickly get the required app on another device you own without searching for it again in the Store. When you have signed in to the Store with your Microsoft account on a new device, you will be able to install the apps you already own (which you previously purchased from another device). Microsoft Store saves the list of your devices for that purpose. This works when you are signed in with your Microsoft Account.

The updated user interface adds five new tabs to Microsoft Store, including Home, Gaming, Entertainment, Productivity, and Deals.

The Gaming category highlights not only UWP games but also full-featured PC games, including famous titles like Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, Sea of Thieves, and more.

The dedicated Devices section lost its own tab. Now the Store lists powerful gaming devices and accessories under the Gaming category, and the Productivity tab includes some stuff that works well for office needs.

The Netflix, iTunes, and Spotify apps are included into the Entertainment section of the Store.

The Deals section now highlights current discounts on apps, games, and hardware, making them easy to discover.
