Microsoft appears to have implemented a very interesting, but controversial change that mimics the Google.com interface when attempting to search through Bing.com. This move could be seen as a strategy to keep users away from Google, which has long been synonymous with search engines and finding information on the Internet.
So, when people search for "Google" in Bing without signing in to a Microsoft account, they're presented with a page that mimics Google's interface.
The company appears to be intentionally copying Google’s interface for this particular search query. The page features a search bar, a Google Doodle-like image, and text below the search bar that replicates the typical Google homepage layout. Additionally, the page shifts the real search results far down to hide the standard Bing search bar at the top of the results.
It’s clear that the company is trying to keep users on Bing by making it harder for them to switch to Google. However, the methods used by Microsoft do not look like fair competition.
Finally, the change may have a country specific roll-out. In my quick test I was able to avoid the new tricky layout by switching the geo.
