Microsoft just started rolling out the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to the public. It is a feature update to the previous Windows 10 version, known as "Creators Update" or "Windows 10 version 1703".

The update includes the following key features.

Windows Mixed Reality

Windows Mixed reality is the platform that adds mixed reality experiences available on Microsoft HoloLens. It offers a holographic shell and an interaction model, perception APIs, and Xbox Live services. To use it, you need a headset and a compatible Windows PC.

Photos and Story Remix

Story Remix is an evolution of the Photos app that makes it easier than ever to relive your memories and introduces video story creation from your photos and videos. Story Remix 3D is supposed to allow users to add 3D objects and use advanced effects on them, just like in the demo from Build 2017, where a soccer ball was replaced with a fireball.

Mixed Reality Viewer

With Mixed Reality Viewer, you can see 3D objects – either from the Remix3D.com community or your own creation from Paint 3D – mixed into your actual surroundings through your PC’s camera.

My People Bar

The My People feature is a new toolbar which adds a special icon to the notification area of your taskbar. It allows the user to pin his favorite contacts directly to the taskbar and will show all the ways to communicate with that contact.

Cortana

You can now lock, sign-out, shutdown and turn off your PC with voice commands.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Store

Microsoft has rebranded the built-in content delivery system in Windows 10. The Store app, known as "Windows Store" since Windows 8, got a new name. It’s now called the Microsoft Store, and it also has a new logo.

OneDrive Files On-Demand

"Files on-demand" is a feature which can display placeholder versions of online files in your local OneDrive directory even if they were not synchronized and downloaded. See How To Enable OneDrive Files On-Demand.

There are plenty of other changes in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. The complete change log can be found here:

  1. in spanish exactly special effects *efectos especiales , that i dont have in photo remix story …..that button is missing ///

    1. You need to have Office 365 subscription for using 3D effects in story remix… and many other features of story remix are also locked without its subscription.

  2. If you are using an Acer Switch of any type, I would highly recommend NOT updating to this version. Touch screen no longer works and it cannot find any sound device (that worked fine before the ermmm…update….ummm… change is probably a better word, ‘upgrade’ suggests an improvement to something).
