Microsoft released ISO images for Windows version 24H2

Earlier this month, Microsoft has made Windows version 24H2 available to Insiders on the Release Preview channel. However, the company is rolling out the update slowly, depending on the state of the Windows Update options, and geolocation. For those who wants to get the latest OS right away, the company today released ISO images. So now you can upgrade your Insider instance, or even clean install it on any other device.

UPDATE 5/29: We’re aware that some Windows Insiders in Release Preview are not seeing Windows 11, version 24H2 offered yet. We’ve just begun the rollout and will gradually increase the rollout over time so not everyone will see it right away. If you are not seeing it yet and want to update to Windows 11, version 24H2 right away, you can do so by using the ISO which are available for download here. The ISO is Build 26100.560 but once you update using the ISO and join Release Preview, you’ll get Build 26100.712.

So, navigate to the https://aka.ms/wipISO page, and grab the ISO file.

Keep in mind that Microsoft considers the OS a work-in-progress. It is officially not the final product, so it is missing some of the functionality that will be shipped with cumulative updates.

Windows 24H2 includes several improvements, such as HDR background support, energy saver, Sudo for Windows, Rust in the Windows kernel, support for Wi-Fi 7, and more. The release boasts the improved Voice Clarity feature to suppress background noise and improve voice quality during calls. However, it will be the first Windows 11 version without WordPad (you can restore it with ease), and the AC-3 codec (you can replace it with one of the freeware solutions).
