Microsoft is testing a new design for Xbox Cloud Gaming website

Microsoft has started testing a new design for the web version of its Xbox Cloud Gaming service, which makes the interface more similar to that used on Xbox game consoles. Xbox Insider program members can already try out a preview version of the new interface, featuring improved navigation and a variety of animations.

Key Changes of Redesigned UI

  • New dashboard animations. The main interface now appears smoothly on the screen when loading, creating a sliding effect.
  • Visual effects. An animated Xbox icon has been added that glows and changes shape, as well as a rounded design element.
  • Improved navigation. Transitions between sections are now much smoother.

... we’re testing a refreshed web experience for Xbox Cloud Gaming that lays the foundation for accelerating our ability to build new experiences for players. This preview is a first look at our new web interface on your browser and lets you try the updated design and product flow before it is rolled out broadly.

It's possible that the updated Xbox Cloud Gaming design could be a hint at what the system's interface will look like on Xbox game consoles in the future. It's also likely that similar changes will be made to the Xbox app for Windows.

You can try out the new Xbox Cloud Gaming design at play.xbox.com. To see it, you'll need to enable the option in your profile settings.
