Microsoft has introduced a new generative AI assistant called Copilot for Gaming, designed specifically to enhance the gaming experience for Xbox players. This assistant will be integrated into the Xbox mobile app, aiming to simplify gameplay by understanding and responding to users' needs.
During its announcement, Microsoft showcased how Copilot can perform tasks like launching game installations, reminding players of their last in-game actions, recommending heroes in games such as Overwatch 2, and offering guidance to beginners in Minecraft.

Fatima Kardar, Microsoft's corporate vice president of gaming AI, highlighted the team's focus on creating a seamless and non-intrusive experience with Copilot. She also revealed plans to incorporate user-generated content into the assistant's capabilities, making it more personalized over time.
While Copilot for Gaming will eventually expand across the entire Xbox ecosystem, it will debut for mobile users first. Xbox Insiders will get early access to test the feature within the Xbox mobile app starting in April 2025.
The assistant's functionality is expected to grow based on player feedback, ensuring a tailored experience for gamers.
