Microsoft has fixed video playback and OneDrive bugs in Windows 10 version 1909

Microsoft releases cumulative Windows updates with bug fixes and security patches every second Tuesday of a month. Sometimes, the company pushes additional out-of-band updates to curb troubles that pop along the way. KB5005103 is one of those unscheduled updates for systems with Windows 10 version 1909 (also known as the October 2019 update).Windows 10 banner cumulative updates

KB5005103 (build number 18363.1766) is an optional update to fix two bugs related to media playback and OneDrive operations. According to the changelog found in the official documentation, KB5005103 solves problems with playing MP4 files in the Movies and TV app (default video player in Windows 10). Also, it fixes a bug when the OneDrive client switches to syncing known folders only after Windows Update installs new patches.

As usual, cumulative updates contain additional improvements that apply primarily to business consumers. You can find the full changelog on the Windows Update history page for Windows 10 1909.

Note that KB5005103 is a preview update, which means Microsoft won't push it to all users automatically. If you experience the issues mentioned above, you need to go to Windows Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update and check the section with optional updates. Alternatively, get the update from Windows Update Catalog using this link. You can check your Windows version by pressing Win + R and entering the winver command.

It is worth mentioning that those still running Windows 10 1909 Home or Professional SKUs should probably consider updating to a more recent version as Microsoft ceased supporting the release several months ago. As of now, the company provides support for Windows 10 1909 just for Enterprise, Education, and IoT editions (until May 10, 2022).
