Microsoft laid off about 1,000 employees this week, people familiar with the matter said. It is known that cuts have affected many divisions, including Xbox, Experiences + Devices, as well as the 'Microsoft Strategic Missions and Technology' that works on the newest tech.
Even those employees who had worked in the corporation for about 20 years were made redundant. For example, Microsoft fired K C Lemson, who until now served as product manager in the office of chief technology officer.

A Microsoft spokesperson said that like all companies, they regularly evaluate the performance of their workers and make structural changes accordingly. They will continue to invest in their business and hire in key growth areas next year.
In July this year, Microsoft announced its intention to cut less than 1% of employees. Now the corporation employs about 180 thousand people. Microsoft also decided to slow down recruitment due to the risk of a recession.
