Microsoft has made a small but noticeable update to Copilot for Windows. The AI assistant now launches with a larger chat window by default, thanks to user feedback. The window is also resizable and will offer more size options, including full screen, in the future.
Yusuf Mehdi, executive vice president of Microsoft, revealed in an interview with The Verge that Copilot now has the ability to blur the background of AI-generated images. It can also highlight specific objects and add various effects, such as pixel art.
Mehdi also mentioned that Copilot has expanded its presence across different Microsoft products and services. It started within GitHub, then made its way into some sales products, and eventually into Office applications. However, this resulted in separate Copilots being launched by different Microsoft departments, without a cohesive integration.
But now Microsoft is working towards providing users with a unified Copilot experience, where new features can be added as users subscribe. The future may bring extensions like GPT or plugins, or even the ability to create your own Copilot. This video reveals some details.
