LG TV owners have noticed that the Microsoft Copilot app is automatically installed on their devices. According to Reddit posts, the AI assistant is installed without the user's knowledge and cannot be removed using standard methods.
LG also enabled the "Live Plus" feature by default, which analyzes what's happening onscreen in real time. This data will be used to provide personalized recommendations and targeted advertising.
Despite significant investments in artificial intelligence, Microsoft has failed to achieve widespread adoption of its Copilot AI assistant. Last month, Mustafa Suleiman, Microsoft's general manager of AI, expressed surprise that people were "unimpressed" with Copilot.
According to thecommunity, "it's too early to write off Microsoft in the AI race, but the company is clearly losing its leading position. And it seems this is obvious to everyone in the industry."
The website also noted that in its "Person of the Year" section, TIME magazine highlighted a group dubbed "AI Architects." The list included Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), Lisa Su (AMD), Elon Musk (xAI), Jensen Huang (NVIDIA), Sam Altman (OpenAI), Demis Hassabis (Google DeepMind), Dario Amodei (Anthropic), and researcher Fei-Fei Li. Microsoft representatives were not included.
