Microsoft announced Windows 365 – a Cloud PC streaming service

Microsoft today announced the Windows 365 cloud service at the Inspire conference. It will allow business customers to create Cloud PCs running Windows 10 or Windows 11 (after its release). There, they can stream the OS to any device. In turn, users will be able to install any applications and features on Windows in the cloud and use them from anywhere with an Internet connection.

Windows 365

Windows 365 is built on top of Azure Virtual Desktop and is a lot like the Xbox Cloud Gaming service. The latter allows you to stream games from the cloud. But Windows 365 is aimed at increasing productivity, as people in organizations can work from anywhere without worrying about the security of the organization's data. The service will support "instant launch". It will be possible to use it through any modern browser or Microsoft Remote Desktop application.

Today we’re excited to announce Windows 365, a cloud service that introduces a new way to experience Windows 10 or Windows 11 (when it’s generally available later this calendar year) for workers from interns and contractors to software developers and industrial designers. Windows 365 takes the operating system to the Microsoft Cloud, securely streaming the full Windows experience—including all your apps, data, and settings—to your personal or corporate devices. This approach creates a fully new personal computing category, specifically for the hybrid world: the Cloud PC.

Windows 365 is reported to launch on August 2 for organizations of all sizes. On the same day, most likely, detailed information on tariff plans for using the service will be disclosed.
