Microsoft has started a rollout of a newest Link to Windows app for Android, that features a number of major changes and improvements. It is introducing a modernized interface, simplified pairing process, and advanced remote control capabilities. It is a gradual roll-out, with some Insiders already seeing the change.

Recent activity
The updated application now works as a unified hub for cross-device productivity. A new "Recent Activity" section enables users to retrieve recently transferred files and clipboard content directly from their phone.
PC at a glance
Device monitoring features allow users to check their PC’s battery level and Wi-Fi connection status in real time.
Remote actions from Link to Windows
Additionally, remote management tools now include the ability to lock a paired Windows device securely from the Android app. Users can also send files to their PC without physical access and initiate screen mirroring from the smartphone to the computer.
Finally, device setup has been significantly simplified. Now users can begin the pairing process directly from their phone, even when away from their PC. The app guides users through necessary permissions and provides clear instructions for completing configuration on the computer.
To access the new features, users must run a recent Windows 11 Insider build, install Link to Windows version 1.25071.155 or later, and enroll in the beta program via the Google Play Store. Both devices must be signed into the same Microsoft account and appear in the Bluetooth & devices section of Windows Settings.
