HP Elite x3 gets another firmware update, improves stability and performance

HP in collaboration with Microsoft has started to roll out another firmware update for HP Elite x3. The new update, version 0002.0000.0023.0113, brings minor improvements to device stability and performance. There are some other changes inside the new firmware.

HP is working hard on improving the user experience of the Elite x3: this update is the fourth one since it's global launch back in August 2016. No other OEM has provided support like this for its Windows phones. The device itself has proven to be very popular among business users who invested in the Windows ecosystem, mostly because of its unique form-factor, wide range of accessories (including Desk Dock and Lap Dock allowing you to convert your phone into a full laptop) and the Continuum feature customized by HP's own services with the ability to run virtualized x86-apps with HP Workspace.

The complete change log looks as follows:

Area Description
Camera Auto focus tuning updated.
Face detection tuning updated.
Carriers APN updated Turkish, Vodafone, EE, Spark, China Telecom, Spark, Orange France.
Performance Times for application launch are improved.
Laggy video playback on wired connection with laptop dock is fixed.

USB Mouse insert causes phone to enter charging mode is fixed.

The following list of issues is available.

Area Description
Apps Skype for Business app cannot be launched from Continuum external display.
Connectivity LAN port of HP desk dock does not have UI configurations.
Security Too many failed unlock attempts, the device will be locked for security reasons. User can unlock the device at https://account.microsoft.com/devices.

If you have a HP Elite x3 device in your possession, you might want to check the Windows Update page in the Settings app. This update is available only as an over-the-air (OTA) update package so consider connecting to the nearest internet hotspot to download it.
