Google has introduced a new application for Windows through its Search Labs initiative. The tool enables users to search across web content, local files, Google Drive, and installed programs using a single keyboard shortcut: Alt + Space

Upon initial use, users must authenticate with their Google account and provide permissions for the app to access files stored on their device and in Google Drive. Once configured, the application indexes content from these sources to support comprehensive searches.
The application includes integration with Google Lens. This feature allows users to select any region of the screen to retrieve related information or translate text displayed in foreign languages.
An AI-powered mode is also available. It supports assistance with academic tasks and permits follow-up queries to refine results and improve accuracy.
The application remains in an experimental phase. It currently supports only English and is accessible exclusively to users located in the United States.
To participate, individuals must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 13 years old.
- Use a device running Windows 10 or a later version.
- Have a personal Google account. Google Workspace and educational accounts are not supported at this time.
Interested users may register for the experiment via the official Google Search Labs website using the provided link.
