Firefox may soon get AI Chatbot integration

According to reports, Mozilla is getting ready to add a chatbot that uses artificial intelligence into its Firefox browser. At present, the company is weighing up its options between OpenAI/ChatGPT and Google/Bard, and has not yet made a decision on which technology to choose.

Firefox AI Chatbot integration

Artificial intelligence-driven chatbots are becoming more prevalent in modern web browsers. Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Opera have already partially or completely integrated support for these features. It is worth mentioning that Google employs its proprietary machine learning model, whereas Opera has devised a system that enables multiple active models to be linked simultaneously.

Mozilla is said to be focused on finding the most user-friendly solution, and the ultimate decision will be based on negotiations.

It is noteworthy that Mozilla has partnered with Google, which obligates them to prioritize Google's search engine in Firefox. Nevertheless, this partnership is exclusive only to search engines and does not extend to other technologies. Consequently, OpenAI could offer more favorable conditions that could influence the final decision.

There is currently no confirmed release date for AI capabilities in Firefox.
