Microsoft is about to add the Copilot support to the inbox Photos app on Windows 11. There is an add-on for that in Insider builds. It is already packed with image-specific features, such as the ability to create and run slideshows, and change the desktop background.
The plugin has been discovered by @PhantomOfEarth in the Photos app version 2024.11030.22001.0.
Besides, there are some other changes in this app update, such as an updated OneDrive Accounts section in settings.
As it's a work in progress, it may be not available for you right away. Microsoft is yet to announce it.
The Redmond software giant is actively adding AI features to the Photos app. Just recently, it has got Generative Erase to remove extra objects from photos.
