Check supported WiFi speed of your Wireless adapter in Windows 10

If you are curious to find out the WiFi speed supported by your wireless adapter in Windows 10, here is a simple method which will help you to determine it. Just follow the steps in this article.

Learning more about the supported WiFi speed is pretty useful when you want to build or upgrade your existing wireless network. For example, you may want to be sure that your laptop's wireless adapter supports the 802.11ac standard before you get an 802.11ac router.

To check it quickly, do the following.

  1. Open an elevated command prompt.
  2. Type or paste the following command:
    netsh wlan show drivers
  3. In the command output, you'll find the supported speed near the line "Radio types supported". See the following screenshot:

Alternatively, you can open Device Manager and check your wireless adapter's properties. Usually, it has an "Advanced" tab which refers to its supported wireless modes although some devices don't have this info there.

That's it.
