Rar and 7z archive support in Windows 11 one step closer to release
The latest Windows 11 Insider Beta Channel build, version 22631.2199, now supports a range of archive formats including tar, tar.gz, tar.bz2, tar.zst, tar.xz, tgz, tbz2, tzst, txz, 7z, 7-zip, rar, and gz in read mode and some in write mode. However, encrypted archives are not yet supported in this version.

Microsoft releases Windows 11 Build 23526 to Insiders in the Dev channel. It comes with a good number of fixes and improvements. The Cast to feature can now be conveniently launched from Quick Access. The right tooltips in the Start menu will no longer show a huge blank area. And much more.

A Microsoft employee, Jen Gentlemann has shared a useful tip on how to temporarily prevent processes from updating in the Task Manager. You can simply press and hold the Ctrl key to pause the Task Manager refresh and stop lines from jumping in the list. This allows the process names to remain still, making it easier to select the right processes when sorting by different PC resources.
Microsoft updates Paint with zoom (stable) and centered canvas (insider)
The software giant from Redmond is releasing two new versions of Paint. One of them is available in stable versions of Windows 11 and includes scaling, dark theme support, and an improved image properties dialog. But for insiders, there is a newer version of the app with a centered canvas.
Windows 11 Build 25931 (Canary) is rolling out to Insiders with ISO images
Microsoft is releasing Windows 11 Build 25931 to Insiders in the Canary channel. It includes several new features ported from Dev channel builds. The new features include a new procedure of domain controller detection, more apps that you can easily uninstall, an improved Details pane in File Explorer, and more. Finally, ISO images for this build are also available, so you clean install it on demand.
