Windows 11 Build 25217 allows sideloading custom widgets, includes taskbar fixes

Microsoft just released a new Dev channel build to Insiders. It is solely focused on Widgets, and allows developers building and testing custom widgets. This requires the most recent WinAppSDK 1.2 preview 2 release. Also, there are a new video calling experience for Chat on Windows 11, minor Microsoft Store updates, and general fixes.

Windows 11 22H2 has issues with RDP and provisioning

There are two more issues with Windows 11 version 2022 Update. First of all, RDP users started to report about broken Remote Desktop connections after upgrading to version 22H2. Microsoft on other hand has confirmed one more issue with the newest OS: Provisioning is broken and can lead to non-working OOBE.

“Moment 1” features for Windows 11 22H2’s October update now available in Release Preview

With the release of Windows 11 2022 Update, version 22H2, Microsoft has postponed several features to October. So Microsoft started testing them right now. Ahead of the official release of the "Moment 1" update, Microsoft pushed those features to Release Preview channel Insiders with Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621.608 (KB5017389).

Microsoft confirms a new bug in Windows 11 22H2 with slow large file copy

One more bug affects the newly released Windows 11 2022 Update, version 22H2. When copying large files from a network share, the operation can perform really slow. A large (multi-gigabyte) file can have up to 40% less throughput compared to SMB when copying (reading).

Windows 11 22H2 gets Widgets notifications with KB5017389, build 22621.608

Microsoft has issued the first cumulative update for the brand new Windows 11 version 22H2. The KB5017389 patch is currently available as an optional update for those who run "Windows 11 2022 Update." It comes with several fixes, and also adds enhancements like Widgets notifications, reliability updates for the Microsoft Store,  improvements for daylight saving time Chile, and more.
