Today, Microsoft released a number of patches for supported Windows 10 version. The newest Windows 11 OS has also received its first cumulative update with a fix. Here are the changes.

Windows 11 is now available for users, and Microsoft wants as many people to know about its latest operating system as possible. To let you know that your device supports (or does not) Windows 11, Microsoft uses a dedicated banner in Windows Update. Also, the company now tries to convince users to upgrade to Windows 11 during the Windows 10 setup experience or OOBE (out-of-box experience). Users on Reddit report spotting the offer when setting up their Windows 10 computers after reset or clean installation.

Microsoft today released Preview updates for Windows 10 2004, 20H2, and 21H1, which share the common base. The released patch is KB5005611, and it comes with a huge list of fixes.

Xbox Cloud Gaming, formerly Project xCloud, continues expanding to more markets and regions. On the official Xbox News website, Microsoft announced the launch of Xbox Cloud Gaming in four more countries: Australia, Mexico, Brazil, and Japan.

Microsoft is moving closer to the public release of Edge 95, the next version of its Chromium-based browser. After testing new features and changes in Canary and Dev channels, Microsoft pushed Edge 95 to users in the Beta channel.

AdDuplex has published a new statistical report on the usage stats of Windows versions, which now also includes data on Insider builds of Windows 11. According to the published information, in September the share of Windows 10 May 2021 Update (version 21H1) reached 38.1%.

Back in 2020, Microsoft announced a new package manager for Windows 10, called Windows Package Manager or simply Winget. Recently, the app has reached its first stable version, and also comes bundled with Windows 11. Today, winget has reached version 1.1 RC, and is available for download for those who runs Windows 10 version 1809 and above.

Those Insiders who stay on Windows 10 version 21H2, today receive a new build. Released as a cumulative update, Build 19044.1263 will be offered automatically for Windows Insiders already on Windows 10, version 21H2 in the Release Preview Channel.

Microsoft releases Windows 11 (and Office 2021) on October 5, 2021, for devices that meet minimum hardware requirements. If your computer has an 8th gen Intel CPU or 2nd gen AMD Ryzen CPU with SecureBoot and TPM 2.0, you can expect Windows 11 to arrive on your device via Windows Update. Older computers will have to stick to Windows 10, which is on track to receive a feature update somewhere alongside Windows 11. Microsoft is yet to announce the release date, but the company has already shed some light on hardware requirements.

Microsoft started rolling out a new firmware update for its dual-screen smartphone, Surface Duo. Unfortunately, this is just another lackluster update with no specific bug fixes or significant improvements. The changelog for September 2021 firmware update for Surface Duo consists of a single point with monthly security patches for Android.
