The latest stable release of Microsoft Edge has finally received a feature that allows the user to display two web pages side by side within a single tab. Formerly, to achieve a similar layout, users had to move the desired tab to a different window, then use Windows tools to align the two windows side by side. This keeps sidebars, vertical tabs, toolbars and other UI elements visible in each of the windows. They take up significant screen space. The new feature solves that issue.

Microsoft is testing an improvement for tab management that allows you to quickly create a group from 'similar tabs'. It is gradually rolling out to Canary users. As of the time of this writing, it operates the tab title for grouping criteria.

Starting in Edge 114, Microsoft Edge has got support for mouse gestures. They will allow you to perform certain actions like page reload, navigation through browsing history, and so on, with a special mouse movement. There are 16 gestures that the user can enable or disable in order to manage the browser with short mouse movements.

Some time ago, the beauty of Microsoft Edge on Windows 11 waned as its developers disabled the Mica Acrylic effect in the user interface. However, this may change in the near future. Canary builds of the browser sport a different enhanced style of the browser that fills the document area and its panes with the cool effect.

To create a better user experience, Microsoft is still experimenting with the Close Tab button position for vertical tabs. Currently, it appears on right for both horizontal and vertical tabs. But for some Canary insiders, it now appears on the left in vertical tabs mode. Also, it may remain always visible when the tab pane is unpinned.

You may remember that some time ago the Opera browser has got a Crypto wallet feature that allows you to manage digital currencies with ease. Looks like someone at Microsoft got inspired by this option and decided to add something similar to Edge.

Starting in Edge 111, the stable version of the browser sports a new Bing button in the sidebar. In pre-release versions of Edge it appears in the toolbar instead of the sidebar, and replaces the menu button by shifting to the left, so even if you hide the sidebar, it remains visible! As of now, Edge stable doesn't offer any option to get rid of the bing icon, but this will change in May.

Microsoft is now rolling out a new stable version of Microsoft Edge 111.0.1661.41. Edge 111 comes with a new sidebar with the Discover feature, Microsoft Feed integration on the new tab page, security improvements, and a browsing data deletion policy for IE mode.

On February 27, Microsoft Edge has got a new flag in Canary, edge://flags #edge-video-super-resolution. As followed from its description, it allows the browser to enhance the image for low resolution videos. However, it was not clear on what devices and how it will work. Microsoft has finally announced the feature officially and provided its hardware requirements.

Microsoft has announced that they are bringing badges to the Edge add-on store. They should help you differentiate useful and popular extensions among 11,000 available add-ons. In company's opinion, the new badge system will stimulate developers to build high quality extensions to compete on the marketplace.
