Yesterday, Microsoft released a new build for Insiders. Windows 10 build 12495, which is a part of the Redstone update, comes with an interesting change - every time you download a file using the Edge browser, it notifies you about the download status using Action Center.
To see this new feature in action, you need to download a file using the Edge browser. For example, I have downloaded my Winaero Tweaker app.
Once the download completes, a toast notification appears informing the user about it:
Next, when you open the Action Center pane, it will contain the appropriate notification:
When you click it, it will take you back to the Edge browser and its download popup:
What do you think about this change? Personally, I am a desktop user and I found no benefits to this change. Touch screen device users might find it useful to have a download notification which leads them directly to the browser.
