Skype 8.54 Released with New Features

Microsoft is releasing a new Skype version to stable branch users. The app version 8.54 comes with updates to Translated Conversations in Skype, and improvements and fixes to screen sharing on macOS.

The official change log for version 8.54 mentions the following changes.

Skype for Windows, Mac, Linux and Web

  • Lingua Nota:  Talking and chatting with people all over the world in a different language just got even easier with Translated Conversations in Skype. Learn more about Translated Conversations.
  • Improved detection of missing permissions for screen sharing on macOS.
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.

Skype for Android, iPhone and iPad

  • Lingua Nota:  Talking and chatting with people all over the world in a different language just got even easier with Translated Conversations in Skype. Learn more about Translated Conversations.
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements.

The new features are rolling out gradually over the next couple of days so if you don’t see them right away, just check again soon!

Skype Image Preview

The new Skype Preview app has a very streamlined user interface. It follows the modern trend of flat minimalist design with glyph icons and no borders anywhere. This design is being used in all other Microsoft products.
