Microsoft Launches a New Page for all Insider Programs

Microsoft's Insider Program became popular with its launch for Windows 10. It allows any user to become a tester of pre-release Windows 10 versions for free at any moment of time, or opt out of the program when needed. Microsoft finds the program effective, so the same test access options are available for number of other products of the company.

In order to combine information about available insider programs, Microsoft launched a new page which looks like a hub for insiders. The page contains information about Microsoft Office, Bing, Microsoft Edge, Skype, Visual Studio Code, and Xbox. All these products have their own Insider program.

Microsoft Insider Hub

From this new page you will be able to join any Insider program, learn important information about it, and many other things.

Microsoft describes it as follows.

As a participant in an Insider program, you will have preview access to the latest features, news and updates. You will know the news before the general public, you will be the first to provide feedback directly to our employees, including engineers, and you will help shape the future of your favorite products. Register now for each program to find out what’s new at Microsoft.

Insiders are encouraged to share their feedback and suggestions about the appropriate product. Also, Insider Preview versions of apps are known to collect telemetry and send the collected data back to Microsoft. According to the company, they use the collected data and user's feedback to improve various features of their software and resolve issues.

  1. Such an ingenious idea.

Let’s fire our QA team and use the customers as free beta testers. Give them some badges and emojis for a good measure and we’re all set, this is the future of Windows.

So sad to see the company and its products degrade to such insane levels. It’s unbelievable how much more of a quality product Windows 7 was, and that’s because it had a team of professional testers alongside those customer previews. It’s pretty clear who they should’ve fired instead. Those people are now blasting ninja cats emoji all over Twitter.
