A few days ago it came to our knowledge that Windows 10 version 1803 had started to display upgrade notifications, as it is close to its end of the support date. Microsoft revealed that similar notifications will affect all older releases, including the initial version (1507), 1511, 1607, 1703, and 1709.

Earlier this week, Windows 10 version 1803 users started receiving tips to upgrade the OS when visiting the Windows Update page. The exact date when Windows 10 April 2018 Update reaches end of service is November 12, 2019 for both Home and Pro editions. Instead of forcing the update right away, Microsoft has started showing a warning.
Microsoft plans to start enforcing updates on devices running Windows 10 version 1803 if you haven't updated already to a recent version by the time it reaches end of support.
The update process was started in June 2019 and it is now being rolled out to a wider range of devices.
Earlier Windows 10 versions
Yesterday, Microsoft issued a new blog post that the support time frame is expiring for Windows 10 version 1703, too.

Besides this change, older Windows 10 versions, including version 1507, version 1511,version 1607 and version 1703, will receive a special notification that states that your device must have the latest security updates installed and then offers to update your device.
Microsoft states that Windows 10 version 1507, version 1511,version 1607 and version 1703 are currently at end of service. They no longer receive the monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats. The company recommends to go with at least Windows 10 version 1809.
