Windows 11 Build 26120.6982 (Beta) released

Windows 11, build 26120.6982 (KB5067109), is now available to Windows Insiders in the Beta channel. It comes with the same set of features as its Dev channel counterpart. Specially, the Windows search box now includes a “Copy & Search” function that enables users to search clipboard content directly from the taskbar. Voice Access gains a configurable delay setting for action execution. These are only for Copilot+ PC users. A new Proactive Memory Diagnostics tool triggers after critical system errors, offering a quick memory test during the next reboot to detect and address potential hardware issues. Windows 11, build 26220.6982 (KB5067109), is now available to Windows Insiders in the Dev channel. It introduces several new features. Restyle in Paint is becoming available to Windows Insiders

Microsoft has started rolling out an updated version of Paint (11.2509.441.0) to Windows Insiders in the Canary, Dev, and Beta Channels on Windows 11. The update introduces Restyle, a new AI-powered feature designed to transform the visual style of images directly within the application.

Microsoft officially unveiled Mico, a new expressive avatar that appears during voice interactions with Copilot, among other features. The personality image appears as an abstract animated sphere that hovers on the screen, changing shape and color, and expressing emotions during conversation, making communication more natural.

Windows 11 Build 27975 (Canary) is out

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Build 27975 to Insiders on the Canary channel. It doesn't include drastic changes, instead focusing on bugfixes.  Recently, the branch name from which builds are released changed to BR_RELEASE. This is due to internal operating system development cycles. The Windows Insider team treats these builds the same as builds from the RS_PRERELEASE branch.

Windows Now Prevents You From Disabling Microsoft Store App Updates

Automatic Updates Now Unavoidable Beyond Five Weeks. Microsoft has modified the update settings for apps installed through the Microsoft Store on Windows 11 and Windows 10. Users can no longer disable automatic app updates entirely. Instead, the system now allows only a temporary pause, ranging from one to five weeks.

Microsoft confirmed the development of a next-generation Xbox console

Xbox President Sarah Bond confirmed that Microsoft is actively working on a new generation of gaming consoles, thus dispelling rumors about the company's potential exit from the gaming device market. According to her, the new devices are in the design and prototyping stages. Microsoft's partnership with AMD also remains in effect.

How to Enable Dark Theme for Run and Folder Dialogs in Windows 11

Microsoft has introduced dark theme support for several classic system elements in specific Windows 11 Insider Preview builds. In recent builds 26220.6972 (Dev) and 26120.6972 (Beta), you can have the dark theme applied  to additional components such as the Run dialog and Folder Options. However, not everyone is seeing the change. It is a gradual roll-out, so it may  be missing on your device. However, they can be enabled manually using the ViVeTool utility.
