Windows 11 will soon have a taskbar button to open the Emoji picker

Microsoft is working on an extra taskbar button that will open the Emoji panel in Windows 11. It will be an addition to the existing hotkeys (Win + . and Win + ;). The button can be visible all the time, but there are options to make it visible only when typing,  or hide it.

Windows 11 comes with an Emoji panel that allows you to quickly and conveniently find emojis, symbols, and special characters into your text. It supports a lot of apps, literally it works with almost any text box.

The set of emoji is really huge. It offers more than 1500 emoticons that are arranged into categories. Those include smilies, people, food, animals, cars, and so on. In addition, there are also kaomoji and even special symbols to pick from.

For convenience, it support search. You can also add your frequently used emojis to favorites to select and find them faster. Finally, it properly looks in both dark and light Windows themes.

Since Windows 10, the emoji panel can be opened with two hotkeys, Win + . and Win + ;. But this way assumes that you already know these keyboard shortcuts. For newcomers, it can be not that obvious. To solve this issue, Microsoft is adding a dedicated button to the taskbar.
