Windows 11 Photos app now comes with better Designer integration

Microsoft has updated the Photos app by adding even close integration with the Designer service. It allows using AI when editing an image right in the app, without opening Microsoft Designer in your web browser.

The following new features are announced.

  • When you click the Edit in Designer button, the app will open its options inside the Photos app instead of in your default web browser.
  • AI will automatically recognizes objects in the photo so you can easily work with them. You can remove objects from the image, blur the background to create beautiful portraits, apply automatic cropping, experiment with text, and so on.Photos app Designer AI object editor
  • Besides, you can use classic filters, adjustments, and editing.

The changes are part of the Photos app version 2024.11070.12001. The updated Windows 11 Photos are currently available to Insiders, but on the all channels. However, it is limited to users with Windows language set to English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, or Portuguese (Brazil).
