Quickly after the app's initial release, Microsoft today updated the Windows 11 PC Health Check app. The initial version was heavily criticized by upset users for not providing the actual reason of the device incompatibility. There is a galore of modern, fresh devices which the utility has rated as not compatible with Windows 11.

Even when your computer meet the official minimum hardware requirements for the newest OS, there was a great chance to see the following message.

The above dialog doesn't explain what is actually wrong with your device. A simple step like enabling Secure Boot and/or TPM in UEFI can make a difference. The software will give you the green light to upgrade.

After receiving negative feedback from users, Microsoft has updated the app. So now it shows why it considers your computer incompatible with Windows 11.

Here is how the updated app looks:

If your device comes with a TPM module and it supports Secure Boot, enable both features in UEFI/BIOS, and update the app to the latest version using the following link:

It's worth noting that Microsoft has updated the official documentation. There was a chapter earlier that said users can upgrade devices with TPM 1.2 to Windows 11, although this was not recommended. The company has removed this information from the text. This makes the TPM 2.0 requirement mandatory. Redmond's software doesn't give TPM 1.2 devices a chance, despite they are widespread these days.

  1. Very funny tool !
It keeps telling me: you won’t be able to run Windows 11, go and buy a new computer. And it gives me the name of a few big shops. Looool.

  2. I was automatically updated to the latest version that I originally installed 2021-06-25. My 6 year old laptop now is still rejected for Windows 11 because it is slightly slower than the required minimum. No detection was made my SSD is almost full.
