Microsoft is rolling out Notepad version 11.2510.6.0 to Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev and Canary channels. This update adds two new features: Advanced table formatting support and streaming results for AI-powered text features. Here are the details.
Table Formatting in Notepad
Starting in version 11.2510.6.0, Notepad includes extra formatting options. Now you can easily insert tables into your document to organize your notes.
To get started, find the new "Table" option in the formatting toolbar or add them directly using Markdown syntax. Once inserted, you can quickly change the table by adding or removing rows and columns using the right-click menu or from the "Table" menu in the toolbar.
Streaming Responses Support for AI Features
The Write, Rewrite, and Summarize AI features have been improved by streaming responses. Results will appear word by word, without having to wait for a full response, allowing you to see and interact with the preview faster.
ℹ️ Note: Currently, you must have a Copilot+ PC device in order to use streaming of responses for the Rewrite feature. To use the Write, Rewrite, and Summarize features in Notepad, you must sign in to a Microsoft account.
