Microsoft is working on a new file-sharing feature in Windows 11, internally called the "Drag Tray,". Being hidden in Beta 22635.4805 build, is designed to make file sharing more convenient and intuitive. When you drag a file, a Share panel appears at the top of your screen, displaying a subtle "Drag here to share" prompt. Also, it lists, a small set of compatible apps and services that can receive the file, greatly saving the user's time.
Here's how it looks. The button with three dots opens the familiar Share dialog box.
You may have already noticed that the same panel at the top of the screen appears for the Snap Layouts. If you drag an open window to the top edge of the desktop, you'll see a panel with a list of suggested layouts. With layouts, you can quickly prepare your workspace for the task at hand, since you don't have to manually place windows on the screen and adjust their sizes.
Being a work in progress the Drag Tray Share panel is hidden in Windows 11 Build 22635.4805 (Beta). But if you are interested in trying it right now, you can use ViVeTool. Follow the steps below.
