Windows 11 Build 23516, which was recently released to the Dev channel, reveals a great pack of useful plugins for Windows Copilot. With them, the integrated AI assistant will do more than showing a chat bot dialog and turning the dark theme. There are plugins for launching applications, clock and tasks, task manager, file actions, troubleshooting, opening settings and even providing feedback.
With helps of such plugins, Windows Copilot will be able to perform a range of system tasks and interact with installed apps. For example, the Clock plugin will like allow you to set alarms and timers using the integrated Clock app.
The Task Manager plugin may allow manipulating the running apps, e.g. close them or switch between them with your voice or in dialog mode. This looks pretty exciting.
There is also the Accessibility Tools plugin that can change ease of access options. The latter now support color intensity and boost for Color Filters.
All the plugins have been created by Microsoft. As the Copilot feature included with Windows Insider Previews is a preliminary version, it is not clear when the plugins will see the light. The plugins aren't available anywhere in the user interface, and the assistant doesn't use them as of this writing. Microsoft is expected to roll out Windows Copilot with the release of Windows 11 version 23H2 during the second half of 2023.
