Changes and Improvements

General

This update includes minor general improvements and fixes that enhance the overall experience for Insiders using this build on their devices.

Fixes

Windowing

The team resolved an issue that caused an increase in DWM crashes in the prior build, which could result in a black flash on screen.

Other

The update fixes an issue from recent builds where launching cmd non-elevated from the Run dialog opened in Windows Console Host instead of Windows Terminal, even when Windows Terminal was set as the default terminal application.

A root cause for crashes in certain UWP apps during scrolling has also been addressed in this build.

Known issues

General

The team is currently investigating reports that the Temporary files section under Settings > System > Storage gets stuck during file scanning. The team is also looking into why previous Windows installations do not appear in this section.

File Explorer

In dark mode, the red indicator for low disk space in This PC may appear lighter than expected. Other color indicators may also display incorrectly, including the use of black for remaining space, which reduces visibility.

Reset & Recovery

[NEW] The “Reset this PC” feature in Settings > System > Recovery is not functional in this build. The issue will be resolved in a future Canary Channel release. Users who need to reset their PC can revert to the previous build and perform the reset from there.
