Microsoft today released Windows 11 Build 27913 to Insiders on the Canary channel. It comes with a number of improvements. The Settings app now features a centrally located search box for improved accessibility. The Windows Vista boot sound no longer plays unexpectedly, restoring the correct Windows 11 startup sound. The search box in Settings is now positioned at the top center of the window to provide a more uniform and improved search experience.

Resolved an issue where the Windows Vista boot sound played unexpectedly instead of the designated Windows 11 startup sound.
Desktop background
Performed underlying improvements to address occurrences where the desktop background would appear black instead of the intended wallpaper. Users encountering persistent issues are encouraged to submit feedback via the Feedback Hub under Desktop Environment > Background and Wallpaper.

- Addressed an issue in recent builds that could lead to Settings crashing when accessing options within Settings > System > Power & Battery.
- Resolved an underlying problem causing certain apostrophes in Settings and related dialog boxes to display incorrectly as random characters.
Audio
Fixed an issue that could cause audio to stop functioning several seconds after initiating screen casting to a television.
Other
- Resolved an issue in the most recent builds that caused a small subset of Insiders to encounter recurring bugchecks with KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE following system upgrades, particularly when connecting to a VPN.
- Corrected an underlying problem resulting in acrylic effects within certain applications appearing unexpectedly transparent.
- Applied an additional fix for the issue preventing the Group Policy Editor from rendering properly in specific languages, such as Chinese, where large blank areas were previously displayed.

General
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR COPILOT+ PCs
Insiders transitioning from the Dev Channel, Release Preview Channel, or retail to the Canary Channel on a new Copilot+ PC may lose access to Windows Hello PIN and biometric sign-in, encountering error 0xd0000225 with the message “Something went wrong, and your PIN isn’t available.” Users can re-establish their PIN by selecting the “Set up my PIN” option.

During the upgrade process to this build, the progress wheel may appear as a rectangular glyph rather than rendering correctly.
